Very Professonally done (did you have to hire models?) high quality video.
Sex is used often to sell a product. The idea being if you use this product you will be more sexy. This does not really fit with the iFART app. (IMO). It is a cute story line, but didn’t make me really laugh, but the ending made me smile. I think others I have seen have a bigger wow factor, and literally made me laugh out loud. Very high quality work though.
This video really has it all. The music, lighting, actors and, best of all, humor put it in a league all by itself. I love a prank, and it’s so refreshing that the girls get in on the fun in this one too!!! Awesome.
Classical dream model with dream model and no sense of humor for an application like iFart… I wonder the outcome if instead of the models there was 2 NORMAL everyday ppl… like in real life, the domain iFart belongst to.
Ha actually they are quite a” normal” everyday couple…:) and if it makes everyone feel better to know…they weren’t paid! I think the effect would be the same with 2 “normal” people…HILARIOUS!!it’s the quality that threatens you people:) Do you find it interesting how there’s only been disgruntled comments and finger pointing at the one with the highest quality ….I do!:) I really enjoy reading all the comments though!! Keep em coming! Bring it on !:) This is alotta fun!WHo Haa!
ahhhhh haaaaaaa u lot out there are retarded (and most likely part of the competition that are cut up cause u didnt put in as much effort as these guys must of) this clip rocks!!! so professional!!!
you know the whole charm of this one is that you think ahhhhh this is gonna be some underwear campaign or something and then bammmmmm!!! whammo in ya face fart LOL its the unexpected quality that makes this work and i would way prefer to see nice bodies rather than average dirty joe…….it’s advertising people take a look at all the ads on tv!!! sexy people fart too ahhhh haaaaa hilarious
I agree that this production is professional but I think thats what saved it. I didn’t really find it that funny? And we didn’t need to see his or her junk. goodluck
HaHa, I think this one is great. It looks like a commercial you would see during the Superbowl!!!!!!!!!!!!
I notice that most of the haters have left over-positive comments on some of the more mediocre entries.
Oh and Drakunia - I don’t know if you’ve ever seen movies, TV or commercials but they always hire beautiful people to play “normal” people, they’re just better to look at.
This is aimed to the wrong audience. The iFart is supposed to attract 8-16 year olds, and if you are only trying to attract 16-90 year olds you are aiming for the wrong section of maturity. Instead you could make it appropriate for all ages and get ALL the sales, without getting infuriating adults.
And even though people complain about how up tight some parents are about this kind of vulgar, these are a large percentage of people who are out there, and are still people who WOULD buy your product.
I can’t believe this one dropped to 2nd (at least in terms of # of comments). This video is great. I love how you spoof on the Calvin Klein-style underwear ads. This is really creative, shows a good use of the app without explaining every detail. It’s the perfect teaser video! Perfect twist! Excellent production! And this coming from someone who worked on one of the other videos… Good luck! Fart a leg.. er, I mean, break a leg.
First of all I have to admit that I know the people that made this clip and have also been involved in marketing. So lets break down some of what’s happened in the first 7 days on youtube.

After checking out the other popular posts and reading the comments on those it is really surprising to see how many negative comments there are about this video.
Even though I know the people who made this I am also an unbiased critic of theirs but in this case the entry is obviously head and shoulders above the other entries and in my book is the guaranteed winner by a long shot.
It is the only entry that I have seen that I can picture actually appearing on TV, there are some entries that kind of get close to the quality like the Brown Danube and the Hot Tub one but this one just looks the goods. The humor is right, it’s the right length, it doesn’t rely on the English language and it has beautiful people.
I love it! This entry is pretty much flawless. Even if the votes were not to favour it, the organisers of this competition would have to be retarded not to choose it. Well done to whoever made it.
Sir, you are truly very bias, who are you kidding?
You go about referencing us to different websites that have chosen to promote this video, all of which who are ovbiously close friends with the contestant. All those websites receieve plenty of traffic on a daily basis. You could post any video on a busy site’s homepage and it would receive just as much attention as this did.
And thirdly, the contest is for $5000. It’s not calling for professionals to break out expensive equipment and go to work with real crews. If that were the case the contest grand prize would be perhaps… $25,000, probably more? This contest is looking for a funny, witty, clean cut, and a “well accepted by the masses” entry. As for this video being accepted on TV… this is a prime example of a “banned commercial”.
Ifart will ask themselves.. “do we want something like this attached to us”.. and then they will think deeper.. “does macintosh want to be associated with an application like ours that has this video as a promotional agent?” Risky.
Wow, David you are promoting this video? You go to different sites and cut down the other videos, and you are doing promotions for this video. Too Funny.
I could be wrong and only the iFART people truly know what they are looking for, but my instincts tell me they were looking for your typical mom and pop family with a camera and see what they could come up with for the contest. Not a professional production with actors, and there own promotion people sending this to every blog in Europe.
errrrrr u wack jobs this is a mom and pop video i know for a fact that the “models” weren’t hired and to add to it they are a real couple and the crew are friends who have like interests in creating quality work and not one person was paid for it…… just because it looks professional doesn’t mean it had a blockbuster budget thats the difference between someone who has a genuine talent as a camera man and director and and those who are wannabes u lot that are trying to cut it down for being of “professional” quality are low low low lil rodents who are jealous and its sooooo obvious!!! You should have respect for someone who has takin the time to learn how to light and edit and understand camera angles……. A person with a true talent can use equipment worth millions or cents but the outcome is still of a high standard it shows respect to the art of film maybe some of u should have applied urselves a lil better and rather than trying to find fault with something that had been finished and no corners cut …. why don’t we all shut our lil abusive traps and wait and let the judges decide i do like the 90’s ad thats cool and funny i voted for u guys power to that team and the hot tub was good too but i have a feeling the rap kids have some nasty karma coming their way u should learn to respect others work…… and as far as promoting goes its not like it has a PR team its freakin facebook etc just like what the rest of the teams are doing derrrrrrrrrrrrr farrrrrr out when somebody’s work is being cut down of course the team involved is going to defend it.
Also i am pretty sure that this isn’t going to be on TV people and even so this one is probably the only one that would be of a tv air quality pretty sure its only going to be internet/web based…….and um IFART is an application that is selling FART noises far out we ain’t selling embroidered hankies to lil old ladies FARTS are dirty and grotty my goodness me have u never been cupcaked or dutched oven or farted on by ur brother sister dad etc etc that is what this one is showing its not like some vulgar dirty porno it is a girlfriend sneaking up on her boyfriend while he peacefully sleeps and farts on his face!!!! stop trying to spin it as being some nasty R rated snuf film LOL just cause some of u have never seen a butt before go for a walk thru a mall with ya children and u better blind fold em cause if they see heavens forbid a Victoria Secret Shop,CK, Armani Exchange, or any other high end brands (like what MAC’s image is its fashionable its no IBM MAC is hot and trendy!!!) then oooooo ahhhhhhhhh ur lil children’s minds will be scarred…….its a bit too late for that old argument its been lost long ago take a look around at all the shiny boobies and bott bott…… atleast their assets are natural and not plastic!!! i’ve seen a juicy fruit ad for gum more raunchy than this!!! howdy doody people are nutjobs!!!! i really don’t care if this one does or doesn’t get a place but i refuse to let wack jobs cut it down and bag out on it without a fight!!!
People have their own opinions and when it comes to opinions, you cannot prove an opinion wrong. I think that the film has too much of a close-up on the man’s “Junk” and also rolls up the woman’s thighs so it grasps people’s attention when it just barely goes up to her… yeah. But to me… that is vulgar because it focuses on the lower part of the body too much. That is my opinion and there is not any way you can change that.
And for the budget, you obviously do not know what you are talking about, because in order to get good lighting use it well, you are not going to be able to get that quality of lighting in a small budget.
LET ALONE THE CAMERA! The camera quality was ridiculously high, and you can defiantly not get that kind of quality with a $100 camera (I don’t even think they sell cameras in HD for that low).
In conclusion I think you need to know what you’re talking about before you start blabbering on about how everyone in the world with an opinion other then yours is an idiot. I don’t even think you know for a fact what kind of budget they used. Do you? I want them to honestly post how much money they used to buy all that equipment. That’s including the lights, actors (if they hired any), cameras, microphones, editing software, tripods, advertisements, equipment rentals, etc. And if it was lent to them, how much do they all cost all together?
I agree with you on one thing, that people can make a well made film with a low budget, but a standard low budget camera capturing with this high of quality would take WAY too much effort to do (I don’t even think it’s possible).
I am eager to hear what equipment you used (FilmPatentPending), and when you tell me, can you tell me not only how much it cost, but also what it is.
Good luck in the contest! I honestly think that it is a good film don’t get me wrong. I just have mixed thoughts about the content. And that I am just curious about why this professional film was put into such an mediocre contest.
Why do you need sex to sell, isn’t there enough of that bombarding our kids today? I hope something more family friendly will beat this. Afterall it will be marketed to kids/teens with an iphone.
Not to get any further involved with this ridiculous debate, but wishing to defend myself, I would just like to say that marketing efforts I have been involved in have been through facebook and email which have accounted for less then 4% of actual views. All the external websites linking to our video have nothing whatsoever to do with the makers of this production. I posted the statistics because I am personally really excited for my friends who made this video that it basically promoted itself on its own merits.
Now I must embarras you as well. How rude of you to assume we are all idiots. I can’t speak for everyone on else on this site but just by watching the entry on youtube it is quite apparent this video has “low depth of field”, HD resolution, and if not4:4:4 colour space.. quite close, I am not blind!
But yet you insist this is a “mom and pops” entry?
Starknish I can’t speak for this group, but I can try and answer your question for them.
HD CAMERA (prosumer or professional) = 6 to 10 grand.
LIGHTING SETUP (Easily over 1500)
DOLLY(WHO KNOWS)
DOF ADAPTOR (If the camera doesn’t have the right dof they would have used this.. probably 2 grand.)
Hi I am Dakota from the Fire in the hole video.
I just wanted to say this is a very good video. We all know it is a IFART commercial, but imgine how much more funny it would be to someone who didnt know it was an ifart commercial. they would think it’s an underwear commercial or something like that.
I am not ranking any of the videos, But his one is one of the top ones. great job!
Stop by and check out our other videos sometime.
~Dakota A&D comedy films~ http://youtube.com/shortfilmzz123
I am 100% with you kristie. This product was made for kids/teens, and just because there is plenty of this vulgar in normal society does not mean that there NEEDS to be more of this sexual stimulation to sell something, Victoria’s Secret is a company that is supposed to sell things to adults, which is why they use sexual stimulating images to sell their products. but the iFart application is not a product designed for exclusively adults.
Josh also has a really good point on how the iFart company should think about how people are going to think of them when they see this commercial, and if they want to risk an amount of people becoming furious with their company for displaying this to children.
Honestly, Starknish, you are so interested in this video, I think you are their biggest fan! You are making mountains out of molehills, friend. There is absolutely no sexual content in this video. It is fun and pleasing on every level! I would rather children see this, than other children irresponsibly playing with fire unattended. I’m sure most parents would agree with me. This debate is clearly fueled by sour grapes, and you are off your rocker. This is a great advertisement, and is loved around the world. But keep returning to this page - it shows, more than what you say, how you really feel about it - Captain of the fanclub.
Wow! There really seems to be a smear campaign out to get us.
Either way, thanks to all for views, votes and comments. I hope our video continues to attract so much attention!

WOW i can’t believe the bashing this video is receiving, quite obviously from people who are affiliated with other videos. It amuses me to read the biased comments being made against this video in regards to sexuality yet no one has mentioned or made a post about the hot tub version, one of the other better videos out of the pile of crap that has been submitted. The sexual content in that video is far more suggestive then this one. The guys in that video are obviously trying it on with the girls, there are girls in bikinis and a close up of the girls “junk” as they get out of the hot tub!
So why are you giving this one such a hard time, is it because the people who made it put a lot of hard work and effort into it and it stands out heads and shoulders above the rest, and starknish even if the camera is a higher quality one that was bought or rented that was still a monetary sacrifice that was made by the makers that no one else bothered to do. Perhaps everyone should show some respect for the effort and skill that went into this video and for the art of film making itself!
The judges of this competition aren’t as stupid as you presume them to be, all IP addresses are known and it doesn’t take a genius to see what is happening here. And from a marketing point of view you couldn’t buy publicity like this, the controversy that is going on on this blog alone is worth gold, I know i am a marketing manager. This is what i do for a living and getting discussion and such widely differing opinions flying back and forth is what we dream of when releasing a product on the web, this promotion being run now is a test run. IPhone’s marketers will be sitting back looking at what video gets the most hits and debate, what one cause people to be bothered to make a comment. So for all of you participating in the bashing you have probably just done more damage to your videos then this one, congratulations for having the intelligence to foresee that.
And may I point out that nowhere that I can see in the rules does it say to market this to 8 - 16yr olds, its say it must have worldwide appeal. By focusing only on 8 - 16yr olds you are cutting out a huge demographic, 16 - 25 yr olds the ones with a disposable income, of working age, the group of people who do not have to ask mum and dad if they can have something. And it is this demographic that this kind of application will appeal to.
To all involved in making this commercial, you are quite talented! Seriously. I am inspired by the effort you put into this production. Sex is extremely powerful… and this video is certainly influential. Sex is AWESOME… in the context of marriage
That last phrase probably won’t sell too well. Of course, that’s coming from the pastor of the church that entered with a video entitled, “Did Jesus Fart?”
Let’s all put our guns back in their holster and wait it out to see what the judges say come June 1st. I’m starting to get the feeling that comments, ratings, views, etc are going to be overlooked.
Good luck to everyone!

ready ready wait for it……………..
craigslist!!!! did u know that there is a whole network of people out there who are willing to be involved and lend equipment to make projects just for the sheer fun of creating something that is of a good quality
i wasn’t aware that there was a requirement for this competition that u couldn’t put in as much effort as u could possibly muster and be as resourceful as u can be (without being attacked for it), taking the time to research what would produce a great quality without any kind of budget hoping that maybe if it were to win the next project could be even better with some cash behind it……..maybe i missed that part in the rules for this competition?????
by the way missy never mentions that the equipment used wasn’t of a high quality she said that it doesn’t matter what equipment is used the outcome can still be of a high standard ie i think what a lot of other entries did with what equipment they had access to did a fantastic job
and by “mom and pop” or “mum and pop” means that it is wasn’t a blockbuster nor was its budget and crew involved were friends
by the way don’t want to EMBARRASS you by your inability to spell Mr know it all
I would like to take the time to respond to user “zongzadam” on YouTube, who has leveled some serious accusations at our group. I’ll have to repost this back to YouTube later. I would like to have replied on YouTube, immediately, for all to see, but the commenting system seems to be down for the moment; nonetheless, his comments are as follows:
“hmmm!! how come half the comments and ratings are comming from people that have just made sights and that have favorited and commented and rated your video???????
sounds a little likr someone is cheating there views and comments!!!”
Zongzadam, here’s a fact that is simply not disputable. In addition to achieving around 1,000 views per day over the course of ten days on YouTube, we snagged over 10,000 hits overnight from the following French website: http://www.journaldugeek.com/2009/05/04/ifart-pour-un-iphone-qui-sent/
Your allegation is pure unadulterated, unfounded slander, based on innuendo and insinuation. Have you ever heard of libel, son? You can get sued for that: this isn’t middle school. Welcome to the real world: here, you’ve got to present proof of wrongdoing before you can convict someone of a crime. In a free society, accusations must be accompanied by evidence, lest we fall under the tyranny of presumed culpability. So I welcome your evidence in this and any other public forum: hear, hear! Please go on and make your case. Prove it to us all. However, before responding, please keep in mind the following: I doubt that throwing sticks and stones at your competitors is viewed upon favorably by the judges of this competition. Consider that as free advice from someone who, thankfully, is not your legal counsel.
Furthermore, you should tread carefully: in politics, what you’re doing is known as a smear campaign. You are attempting to influence the outcome of this competition in your favor by convicting us in a court of public opinion, without so much as a single fact, in order to diminish our viability; thereby increasing your chances of victory. The judges are likely savvy enough to understand this type of ploy and will surely take what you’ve said — and the way that you’ve said it — into account.
Brain, the judges have already decided who won. I highly doubt that any insults or comebacks are going to turn this thing around. Trust me, nothing is going to change. So just relax and watch time fly.
hahahahhahaha i just keep laughing, it makes me want to try it on my little man, only problem is i don’t have an iphone, guess i’ll just have to do it the natural way.

Also i am pretty sure that this isn’t going to be on TV people and even so this one is probably the only one that would be of a tv air quality pretty sure its only going to be internet/web based…….and um IFART is an application that is selling FART noises far out we ain’t selling embroidered hankies to lil old ladies FARTS are dirty and grotty my goodness me have u never been cupcaked or dutched oven or farted on by ur brother sister dad etc etc that is what this one is showing its not like some vulgar dirty porno it is a girlfriend sneaking up on her boyfriend while he peacefully sleeps and farts on his face!!!! stop trying to spin it as being some nasty R rated snuf film LOL just cause some of u have never seen a butt before go for a walk thru a mall with ya children and u better blind fold em cause if they see heavens forbid a Victoria Secret Shop,CK, Armani Exchange, or any other high end brands (like what MAC’s image is its fashionable its no IBM MAC is hot and trendy!!!) then oooooo ahhhhhhhhh ur lil children’s minds will be scarred…….its a bit too late for that old argument its been lost long ago take a look around at all the shiny boobies and bott bott…… atleast their assets are natural and not plastic!!! i’ve seen a juicy fruit ad for gum more raunchy than this!!! howdy doody people are nutjobs!!!! i really don’t care if this one does or doesn’t get a place but i refuse to let wack jobs cut it down and bag out on it without a fight!!!
holy crap missy, calm yourself!
Dear Missy,
Who are you kidding as well?
DOF ADAPTOR (If the camera doesn’t have the right dof they would have used this.. probably 2 grand.)
pwned.

Wow! There really seems to be a smear campaign out to get us.
Either way, thanks to all for views, votes and comments. I hope our video continues to attract so much attention!

haha, quite the argument going on here!
@Starknish — As they say: it ain’t over till it’s over. However, I do respect your opinion.
Found this on Digg and just love it, thank you!
great stuff!!
hahahahhahaha i just keep laughing, it makes me want to try it on my little man, only problem is i don’t have an iphone, guess i’ll just have to do it the natural way.
i still think it’s number 1…a classy effort. love it!!!
Haha, pillow fights in underwear, what a classic
