iFart 2.0 with Push Messaging (Crash issues)

by admin on July 13, 2009

On July 2nd Apple approved our latest iFart update (2.0) which had new push messaging features, sneak attack enhancement and Fart-a-friend improvements.

This update worked perfectly in all our testing and Apple also tested it before approving it for release.

Within 24 hours we began receiving notifications that the update was crashing for a number of our users.

We discovered this to be a profile provisioning problem that was completely beyond our control.

We quickly submitted another update with a regenerated certificate that seemed to fix the problem although it should have had no bearing either way. And now we are at the mercy of Apple to approve this next update which will hopefully solve the problem.

Long story short.. There was a problem that we could not have foreseen with our 2.0 update, we quickly identified the probable cause of it and submitted a new update within 72 hours over the holiday weekend.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused our customers, and are hopeful that Apple will approve the latest update as soon as possible.

We recommend that users who have not downloaded the 2.0 update yet, hold off until our next update is approved.

Just but the app yesterday work fine. But today i tried to use it and it loads then shuts down. I have tried rebooting to no avail. Any help would be good.
Thanks Ray

Rat,

As we state in the post, we’re waiting for apple to approve an update which should fix it. There’s nothing else we can do on our end.

Sorry for the problems… we wish we could get Apple to approve the update faster but we can not.

In your attempt to appear proactive in this notice, you come across as being full of crap instead. It is not possible that you have nothing to do with your own product crashing.

Jay, please explain how it’s not possible? If you work for Apple we would love to speak with you privately to discuss. Certainly it’s our app and our code, so we have something to do with anything that happens with the App. But we tested, they tested, they approved and something happened after that involving a provisioning file.

Andrew, as soon as Apple approves our update it should work. You can submit a request to Apple customer service if you would still like to request a refund, Apple doesn’t give merchants the ability to refund on our end.

First off I love the app, and have used it before the new update, and crashing. My question is can you post an older version before the new update came out? Then I can re-download an older version, to get this totally awesome app working again.

Unfortunately no.. any change requires apple’s approval which appears to now take 2-3 weeks. If for some reason the new update has the same issues, we would consider resubmitting an older update immediately. Hopefully, Apple will approve soon, and they’ll be no issues.

How do ya get the push notification to work???

What does it do???

Sneak attack works even with app closed.. set timer, continue using iphone as normal. Push messaging will reactivate iFart when timer needs to go off.
